Functional voice training rooted in somatics, movement, and real performance experience.

Working with singers and performers who want a voice that's technically grounded, expressively free, and sustainably theirs — across contemporary commercial styles.

Coaching that works with who you are, not against it.

About

The Work

Most singers who find their way here can already sing. The question isn't technique, but rather ownership: "Does my voice feel and sound like me?"

Many singers have an adversarial relationship with their voice, often perpetuated by training that prioritized perfection over presence and honesty. The work I do moves away from perfection and toward trust. The whole body is the instrument for the voice, not just the throat. Tension, habit, the nervous system and mind all show up when you sing. Working with those aspects rather than around them is the path we take together.

Instead of a list of rules,
we are building a foundation of function you can trust.

Twenty years across professional theatre, music production, and teaching — alongside training in Somatic Voicework™, yoga, and ayurveda — gives me a wide range of reference points. So no two sessions look the same; I work responsively to meet you where you are. We start with you and end with you, and your voice follows.

"I've made more progress in one year than three years of classical training."

— Valentina Truong-Ferreira

What I offer

Work with me

I work with pre-professional and professional singers, independent artists, and performers. All one-on-one work is private and tailored — there's no fixed curriculum, just a responsive process built around where you are and what you're working toward.

Private vocal coaching

One-on-one sessions grounded in functional voice training and Somatic Voicework™ for commercial styles including pop, rock, indie, R&B, and music theatre. Available as single sessions or 5-packs.

Artist mentorship

For emerging artists working across songwriting, music production, and performance. We work on the full picture — craft, sound, identity, and how to sustain all of it.

Workshops & intensives

Group offerings exploring embodied voice, performance, and expression. Most recently: Embodied Voice, Los Angeles, March 2026 — co-led with vocal coach Doug Peck.

Most sessions are held over Zoom. Minneapolis-based students may have the option to work in person.
